Natalie Imbruglia Plots A Comeback
After taking an extended break, '90s star Natalie Imbruglia is plotting a comeback.

And she’s (almost) back! Natalie Imbruglia announced she was working on new music in July last year. Things went a bit quiet for a while there, but the ’90s superstar — “Torn” will forever be pop perfection — shed more light on the project today (March 11). Namely that her comeback single is a cover of Daft Punk’s 2013 single “Instant Crush,” which was voiced by Julian Casablancas.

Why that track in particular? “On the original version, you can’t really hear what the song is about because of the effect [they put on] Julian’s voice,” Natalie said in a press release. “However, it is such a beautiful story that I want people to hear it and connect with the words.” The Left Of The Middle diva also revealed that her fifth LP is called Male, which is appropriate given that it’s a collection of songs originally performed by men.

“Instant Crush” will be released (in Australia) on April 24 with an international rollout to follow later in the year. Male drops July 31.
