Jessica Simpson Reveals She’s Working On A New Album In Rambling Red Carpet Interview
With Gwen Stefani and Fergie back in the pop fold, the next ’00s diva on our wish list is Jessica Simpson. From power ballads (“I Wanna Love You Forever”) to bouncy bops (“A Public Affair”), the carpet-loving songstress racked up hit-after-hit between 1999 and 2006. She then tried her hand, less successfully, at country music in 2008 — “Come On Over” still slays — and released a Christmas album in 2010, before throwing in the towel to concentrate on her booming fashion empire.
Well, the 34-year-old could be on the brink of a very welcome comeback. “Right now I am starting a record,” Jessica told Extra TV in a somewhat rambling, utterly hilarious interview. “I am getting into a lot of other fun things,” she continued. “Fashion will always be a part of who I am — if I’m not wearing a good outfit, I can’t sing a good song.” Perhaps the blonde bombshell had a couple of drinks before hitting the red carpet? Whatever. This is the best news I’ve heard all week!
