Troll Alert: Skeme Claims He Ghost Wrote Iggy Azalea’s “Fancy,” Then Denied It On Twitter
And the Troll Of The Day award goes to rising Cali rapper Skeme. He caused a stir by (very obviously) hinting that he ghost wrote Iggy Azalea and Charli XCX’s multi-platinum hit “Fancy” in a recent interview. “We had something to do with it, a lot of vibe, a lot of push,” the 25-year-old told Sirius XM’s Sway In The Morning. “We put trust funds up for that song.” When called out about his accusations on Twitter, the MC quickly backpedalled.
“Lol @ComplexMusic … Sis def does her thing on her own,” Skeme responded to one article about his revelations. He then addressed pressed Azaleans. “Media does what media does… I’ve personally stood by Igg for the last 2 years through everything,” he tweeted. “It’s understandable you’re upset but your issue is with the media and the way they translated what was said.”
That’s nice and all, but Skeme’s comments were pretty clear. With friends like these, it’s no wonder the Australian femcee has basically gone underground — leaving Twitter and Instagram to her management team. On a rare bright note for the ever-trolled rap diva, her collaboration with Britney Spears — reportedly called “Pretty Girls” — now has a release date.
