Katy Perry's massive concert spectacle will make a premiere on your TV screen. Watch a trailer!

And now we know: Katy Perry isn’t going to be pissed at you for holding your cell phone up for the entire concert. (The concertgoers around you? That’s another story.)

The Prism princess spoke to Mashable yesterday during the premiere of the Epix screening the Prismatic World Tour, where she was asked about the abundance of cell phones at shows.

“I’m with it. I think that, when you see a phone, that is like the new applause. So people used to applaud; now the more phones you see, you can just count it as the amount of applause that there would be…I embrace them mostly as long as they’re not obtrusive.”

The singer isn’t afraid of incorporating new technology, including live streaming services like Meerkat or Periscope. In fact, Perry’s team employed Periscope (renaming it Perryscope, but of course!) for a live stream session during the red carpet and Q&A session at last night’s Epix premiere. “You’ve got to embrace the future or you’re left behind,” she told Mashable.

What do you think about Katy’s pro-phone approach? How do you think the concert experience will change in the near future? Sound off in the comments below.
