Heymous Molly is a new band fronted by Omar Tavarez. There’s an air of mystery about the project, but here’s what I know. They are the first act to emerge from a joint partnership between Latium Entertainment and RCA Records, and they hail from Miami, Florida. Oh, and I’m pretty sure Omar is, or used to be, Pitbull’s drummer. (Heymous Molly feature on Mr. Worldwide’s Globalization track “Day Drinking”).

Mysterious origins aside, the band just delivered an incredibly catchy debut single. “Life’s A Beach” is breezy summer anthem with more hooks than a fisherman and a booming, sing-a-long chorus. It kind of sounds like a cross between Smash Mouth and Len (there might be a sample or interpolation of one of their songs in there somewhere), which is a surprisingly good thing.
