Coachella 2015: Watch Ciara Join R3HAB To Debut “Get Up”
Ciara‘s “I Bet,” produced by ’90s revivalist Harmony Samuels, is a sobering, slow-burning affair. That way, her barbed lyrics are made loud and clear: “Is that your bitch over there, giving me the ugly stare / the one with the silicone ass and the Brazilian hair?”
Since then, though, the Atlanta-bred R&B singer has teamed up with R3hab to have some fun. Days after she debuted the official “I Bet” remixes, featuring Dutch house producer and Atlanta rap superstar T.I., respectively, she headed to Indio, California, to make a surprise appearance during R3hab’s Coachella set. Not only did they perform their “I Bet” remix, but they also debuted another collaboration called “Get Up,” to appear on R3hab’s next album.
While Ciara introduced herself a decade ago as an heiress to crunk, “Get Up” reminds that actually, she has incredible range. Her voice can shift from sounding like Toni Braxton at her most heartbroken, to floating through house music beats as if she’s on cloud nine — and on the same song, at that. Watch snippets of Ciara and R3hab’s live debut of “Get Up” below.
