What’s Birdy Up To? Drawing And Exploring Cemeteries, It Seems

Birdy Interview
We spoke to Birdy about her second album, touring America and writing new music.

Birdy broke (really) big internationally with her self-titled debut LP in 2011. A collection of covers, the album showcased her haunting vocals and eerie interpretations of songs from artists as diverse as Bon Iver and James Taylor. The 18-year-old wrote her own songs for well-received sophomore set Fire Within and expanded her US fan base with The Fault In Our Stars ballad “Not About Angels.”

With the exception of an unlikely appearance on David Guetta’s Listen LP (she voices “I’ll Keep Loving You” with Jaymes Young), Birdy has been pretty quiet since then. The Brit keeps a relatively low profile on social media, but she did provide an update today (April 22). It seems the teenager recently spent a day drawing and exploring London’s Highgate Cemetery. Sounds about right! You can see all of her pics here.
