We analyze what exactly is going wrong with the singer's forthcoming LP.

Ever since Zayn Malik announced his departure from One Direction back in March, many have been in recovery mode while trying to accept the fact the singer is actually no longer a part of the boy band. If you’re still in doubt, Malik has officially removed the “1D” portion from his Twitter handle!

The change came after the singer posted this mysterious tweet yesterday (April 30): “Is speech an extension to our thoughts or an image that we like to create x.” This can be interpreted in so many ways, but one this is definitely clear — Zayn Malik has officially moved on from his boy band past.

Fans of One Direction did not take the news well, as they started the #YouWillAlwaysBeZaynMalik1D hashtag on Twitter. Recently, Simon Cowell voiced his thoughts on the UK crooner’s decision. “I was trying to say to him he should stay around a bit longer. But something inside him said he’d had enough,” he stated.
