Low-key twee-pop duo The Bird and The Bee has been off the map for so long that when Greg Kurstin emerged as the mastermind behind inescapable hits like “Stronger,” “Chandelier” and “Closer,” it didn’t even register that this was the same Bird-and-Bee dude.

But now that he has established himself as one of pop’s reigning producers, Kurstin is linking back up with The Bird and The Bee partner Inara George for Recreational Love, out July 17. It’s the pair’s first full-length since 2010’s cover exercise Interpreting the Masters Volume 1: A Tribute to Daryl Hall and John Oates, and their first album of original material since all the way back in 2009.

Fans wondering if Kurstin’s mastery of anthemic hugeness would seep into the duo’s small-scale sound can rest easy after hearing lead single “Will You Dance?” It’s a typically breezy affair, with George’s vocals flitting across a bouncy retro-funk arrangement, fitting right in with their prior material.

The song premiered via Funny or Die with a music video starring Patton Oswalt and Simon Helberg. Check it out up top.
