Lights Talks Coachella And New Music
We caught up with Lights at Coachella and asked about festival memories and new music.

Lights delivers the best video of her career with sci-fi epic “Same Sea.” Directed by Amit Dabrai, the blockbuster is set in 5057 A.D. and finds our heroine floating around as a kind of human/machine hybrid. The synth-pop singer then looks back on videos from the dark ages (ie. 2040). There’s also a stylish robot assembly sequence (think Bjork’s “All Is Full Of Love”) and even some choreography. In other words, it ticks all the boxes!

“Same Sea” is the third single from Lights’ excellent Little Machines LP after “Up We Go” and “Running With The Boys.” The 28-year-old is still touring the album, but has already started contemplating her next move. “I feel really open and inspired, because there is no rush and there’s no sort of goal sound,” she told me at Coachella. “I think it’s the kind of time where you can experiment and figure out what you want to do next, instead of feeling forced to figure it out right away.” Watch her latest visual up top.
