Pop Perspective: Madonna's "Ghosttown"
Find out what all the Idolator editors had to say about Madonna's "Ghosttown" video.

While “Ghosttown” hasn’t cause much (ok, any) damage on the Billboard Hot 100, it made history yesterday (May 14) when it became Madonna’s 45th number one hit on the Dance Club Songs Chart. No other artist has that many chart-toppers on a singular Billboard chart — the closest being country superstar George Strait, who has racked up 44 number ones on the Hot Country Songs countdown.

And new remixes are still being added to the “Ghosttown” package. The latest comes from S-Man (A.K.A. legendary DJ Roger Sanchez). The 47-year-old gives the ballad a dirty house overhaul that strips out much of the vocal. It’s a main-room monster and should keep dance floors heaving for months. The DJ last remixed a Madonna way back in 2006 when he deconstructed “Get Together.”
