Florence + The Machine Perform On 'SNL'
Florence + The Machine's third appearance on 'Saturday Night Live' was a triumph.

It’s not all doom and gloom on Florence + The Machine’s third LP. Sure, lead single “What Kind Of Man” is a brutal look at a dysfunctional relationship and “Ship To Wreck” positively wallows in self-destruction. But “St. Jude” found the band in a quieter, more contemplative mood, and new promo single “Delilah” is a comparatively upbeat experience. Think a more rock-centric “Rabbit Heart (Lift Me Up).”

“It’s a different kind of danger, and my feet are spinning round,” sings Florence Welch over piano and choral backing vocals. “Never knew I was a dancer, until Delilah showed me how.” The song then transforms into a rollicking pop/rock number — complete with sing-a-long chants. “Delilah” deftly showcases the 28-year-old’s flair for blending genres to create exciting new soundscapes. The band’s third album How Big, How Blue, How Beautiful drops June 2.
