And there's a chance they've been singing about 'GoT' this whole time.

Coldplay‘s entire rise to fame was sort of predicated on this idea that they were just a bunch of regular goobers like you and me who happened to make a couple massive love songs. The latest piece of evidence that they are the everyman’s U2 is their central role in a very fun Game Of Thrones: The Musical mockumentary for NBC’s Red Nose Day TV special.

The sketchs depicts Chris Martin and co. crafting a 16-song stage show based on the hit HBO series. (Fans of the band and show will know that drummer Will Champion actually appeared in the “red wedding” scene, so their GoT blood runs deep.) Peter Dinklage (Tyrion Lannister), Emilia Clarke (Daenerys Targaryen), Kit Harington (Jon Snow) and more fan favorites appear in the 12-minute sketch, which is narrated by none other than Liam Neeson.

Some highlights:
*Seeing Martin and Clarke’s horrible white-boy reggae chops (“I’m a Rastafarian Targaryen, I got some dragons and they’re pretty scary and…”)
*Jon Snow serenading Ygritte with “Wildling” (to the tune of “Wild Thing”)
*Peeping Ramsay Bolton as a normal dude, which was incredibly jarring

It is stupid and funny, and it’s good to see the band has recovered after their sad sack sixth album.

The sketch was part of Red Nose Day, an organization which uses comedy and entertainment to raise money for young people living in poverty. Check it out up top.
