Watch Nicki Minaj’s “The Night Is Still Young” Video Right Here

A few days ago, Nicki Minaj teased footage from her new video for “The Night Is Still Young.” And now it’s here, but she premiered it on Tidal, so most of her fans won’t be able to see it until the embargo is lifted. Unless a rip of the video were to somehow emerge… which is exactly what happened!

As expected, the video marks the slight return of Harajuku Barbie (wouldn’t be surprised if this is the latest video to get hit with the “cultural appropriation” backlash), with plenty of neon and wardrobe changes, plus a huge full moon. As is tradition with Nicki clips, there’s conspicuous product placement, so maybe you won’t feel so bad watching it here and not on the paid platform.

Even though this particular embed will certainly get yanked by her label, this is all indicative of Tidal’s massive oversight: The big exclusives on the platform, which are supposed to entice people to subscribe, are also the ones that are most likely to get instantly bootlegged onto the free internet. The same thing happened with the Beyoncé and Nicki video for “Feeling Myself,” which Tidal users got to see, what, 10 minutes before the rest of the world? It’s hard to believe nobody at the top of company’s cabal of megastars envisioned this sort of scenario playing out.
