The Weeknd returns to his sinister roots in the new video.

After a flurry of activity on The Weeknd front this month (and this whole past year, really), Abel Tesfaye finally announced he has a new album on the way. The project doesn’t have a title or release date yet, but Republic Records has officially confirmed that the “Earned It” singer will be releasing his second (or third, or fifth, depending on how you count ’em) album later this year on Republic/XO.

His new single “The Hills,” which premiered with a video today (May 27), will be on the LP, his first since 2012’s Kiss Land. No word on whether that leaked Max Martin anthem made the cut.
