Has G.R.L. split up? Sadly, signs on Twitter point to yes.

Fans noticed over the weekend that two of its members, Emmalyn Estrada and Paula van Oppen, have removed “GRL” from their Twitter handles. (Paula even changed hers entirely, to @eyesthatlightup.) Later, also on Twitter, G.R.L. founding member Lauren Bennett seemed to confirm the split.

“Thank u all for ridin with GRL during the tough times,” she said. “I know it’s all a bit confusing but I love you all and care[.] never forget.”

G.R.L.’s last new music was a self-titled EP released in July — one of Idolator’s 14 favorites of 2014. It features production by Dr. Luke and Max Martin, and it showed that the girl group has tremendous promise. But when fifth member Simone Battle died later that year,  the rest of G.R.L. admitted that they were unsure of where to go next.

“We had songs that we recorded, but now that everything is new to us, we are just trying to get back into the swing of things,” Paula said to Billboard in March.
