Coldplay's 'Game Of Thrones' Musical
Watch the band goof around with the 'GoT' cast in this elaborate sketch.

Some of you pop music fans are surely seeing this Game Of Thrones headline and reflexively giving the post some side-eye. But the fantastical HBO show is actually littered with easter eggs for music fans. Members of the band Mastodon appeared on the episode last night (June 1), and previously, members from Coldplay and Sigur Rós had cameos. The cast is littered with actors who also have side careers in music: Most famously, Hodor is a DJ and grizzled fighter Bronn was once a cheesy pop singer. If any cast-member has a chance at a breakout music career, though, it’s probably Jacob Anderson, who plays the stoic Grey Worm and moonlights as R&B singer Raleigh Ritchie.

On the show, Anderson depicts a castrated soldier in Daenerys Targaryen’s Unsullied army, so his latest Raleigh Ritchie song is fittingly called “Never Say Die.” It’s a Weeknd-like tale of losing oneself in a blur of drugs and travel that takes a surprisingly dark turn at the end. That crawling, slapping beat is the work of frequent Kendrick Lamar collaborator Sounwave.

Give it a listen below.

It’s good to know that if his character ever gets killed off, he can fall back on this whole music thing.
