Max Martin's 20 #1 Singles, Ranked
We ranked all of the producer's hits, from "Baby One More Time" To "Bad Blood."

Could Tinashe be the name in front of Max Martin‘s 21st #1 hit? The R&B singer told Spin she’s hungry for a crossover hit, saying, “I need to get my No. 1″ — and when you want a chart-topper, you get in the studio with Max Martin and Dr. Luke, which is exactly what she has done. You might even say she’s got “All Hands On Deck” or the very best “2 On” the case. (I am so, so sorry for those.)

“With Dr. Luke, I’ve actually been in the studio with him for five days total and we’ve made a handful of records,” the singer said about the follow-up to her 2014 debut Aquarius. “I think that that one thing I was looking for from him was those big hooks, those super catchy, huge, smash hooks while still integrating that into what I do.”

Tinashe added that she and Martin have put together “seven or eight songs,” and that Cirkut and Rock City are also on the roster of producers she has been logging time with since January.

She hopes to finish up her sophomore LP this fall. Read the full interview about her next phase over at Spin.
