Jasmine Villegas Interview
Jasmine Villegas talks new single "That's Me Right There" and finding her new sound.

Jasmine Villegas continues to experiment with her sound by dropping a very unexpected cover. “Jasminators! you have all been asking me to do songs in Spanish… Well guess what!!?? Tomorrow you will get your request,” the 21-year-old posted on Instagram yesterday (June 8). And she proved true to her word by uploading a Latin-infused pop interpretation of X Ambassadors’ 2015 rock hit “Renegades.”

The “Walk Away” singer does a great job of transforming the New York-based band’s anthem into something more upbeat and authentic to her. It’s the latest step in Jasmine’s evolution from teen starlet to genre-bending pop diva. Of course, she completely overhauled her sound last year — taking the rhythmic route on debut EP That’s Me Right There. Listen to the lovely Latina’s first Spanish-language track below.
