The children of Destiny reunite on Michelle Williams' gospel banger "Say yes". Watch.

As one half of enduring gospel duo Mary Mary, Erica Campbell has been praising Him in song since 2000. The 43-year-old dropped her debut solo LP Help last year and surprised many by landing in the top 10 of the Billboard 200. It shouldn’t come as much of a surprise then that she recently rereleased the album with new tracks. Less expected is the edgy direction of the project’s lead single, “I Luh God.”

Assisted by fabulously-named rapper Big Shizz, the divine diva spreads her message of praise with a trap-infused club-banger. “I Luh God” is an absolute riot with corny/catchy lyrics (“You don’t luh God? What’s wrong witchu?”) and questionable beats. It’s a lot of fun, but not everyone is enjoying Erica’s secular adventure. However, the criticism seems completely unwarranted. Michelle Williams has dabbled in dance music and Christian rock is a genre unto itself. The vocalist’s message will reach a whole new audience with this tune — even if it as a curiosity.
