Icona Pop Join 1D's North American Tour
Icona Pop are gearing up for a comeback this year. They just signed on for 1D's tour.

Icona Pop caught lightning in a bottle with 2012 single “I Love It.” The girl-power anthem was a top 10 hit around the globe (it peaked at number seven on the Billboard Hot 100) and lead to support slots on Katy Perry’s Prismatic World Tour and Miley Cyrus’ Bangerz Tour. Caroline and Aino rode that roller coaster for two solid years, but their debut LP This Is… Icona Pop failed to produced another charting single and they seemingly dropped off the pop radar.

It was doubly exciting, then, to see the Swedish divas reemerge in late May with a hot new track. Produced by Ricky Reed and featuring a cameo from Erik Hassle, “Emergency” veers away from the very European electro of their early material in favor of a richer, earthier and distinctly more adventurous sound. The video arrived today (June 17) and it reflects their new attitude. I mean, it begins with the ladies being wheeled into a morgue and just gets weirder from there! Icona Pop begin an exciting new phase of their career up top.
