Avicii Tugs At Our Heartstrings Again With Third “Waiting For Love” Video
Avicii is nothing if not generous (and inventive) when it comes to the visual side of things. The Swedish DJ/producer dropped his third “Waiting For Love” video today (June 26) and, as usual, it’s refreshingly original. The video stars an elderly man, who wakes up to find his wife missing. He sets out cross-country on his scooter to find her and has a series of quirky adventures along the way. Given the ending, I have a feeling the protagonist is actually a ghost in search of his beloved in the afterlife. But I could have it all wrong.
It’s an epic clip with a moving narrative, but the song’s animated lyric video remains my favorite of the three. (If you ever want to have your heart ripped out of your chest, check it out). A co-production with Martin Garrix, “Waiting For Love” is the first taste of the 25-year-old’s sophomore LP Stories. The poignant floorfiller has already topped the charts in Sweden and Austria, and reached the top 20 in Germany, Australia, Switzerland and the Netherlands.
