Selena Gomez Fans Are Trying To Sabotage Demi Lovato’s “Cool For The Summer”
All’s fair in love, war and online stanning. That seems to be the mentality of many Selena Gomez fans, who are actively trying to sabotage Demi Lovato’s new single “Cool For The Summer.” Selenators began tweeting links to the Max Martin-produced bop as soon as it leaked last night (June 29), which isn’t exactly a rare occurrence in 2015, but took things to the next level by setting up a website to illegally disseminate the song.
The Get Cool For The Summer website offered a download of Demi’s single with the commentary: “Why buy this trash when you can download it for free and save money to buy [Selena’s] Good For You instead.” The site soon ran out of bandwidth, which effectively disabled it. Given the Disney deities’ long rivalry, a little trolling was inevitable — but this crosses the line into something decidedly unpleasant. See a screengrab of the website below as well as a selection of other dubious tweets.
