Watch Eminem Sit Through An Awkward Stephen Colbert Interview On Public Access TV

Before he steps out as the new Late Show host in September, Stephen Colbert has been engaging in some online shenanigans to get himself back into that trending section. For his latest stunt, he sat in for 40 minutes as host of Only In Monroe on Michigan public access TV, and a good 15 minutes of that was spent interviewing Marshall Mathers, “a local Michigander who is making a name for himself in the competitive world of music.”

Much like Between Two Ferns or Will Ferrell‘s Old Milwaukee commercial, it was purposefully lo-budg and awkward, as Colbert asked Eminem about his rap style (“Are you one of those slow-talking rappers or a fast-talking rapper?”), quizzed him on Bob Seger songs and made a pretty great joke about Pitbull‘s first name being “feat.”

They also talked about “Phenomenal” and the Em-produced Jake Gyllenhaal movie Southpaw. It was full of uncomfortable laughs, but it still wasn’t nearly as awkward as Em’s 2013 ESPN appearance.
