Natalie La Rose Interview
Natalie La Rose talks debut single "Somebody," working with Flo Rida and her EP.

Natalie La Rose is on a roll. The Dutch diva scored a top 10 hit earlier this year with Whitney Houston-interpolating debut single “Somebody” and then followed it up with Max Martin-produced bop “Around The World.” That song is currently exploding on pop and rhythmic radio, but the 26-year-old also found time to jump on Timeflies’ catchy single “Worse Things Than Love.” And she (kind of) sing/raps!

The rising hip-hop/pop duo first made waves with YouTube covers and an independently released album before being snapped up by Island Records. Their major label debut LP After Hours landed at number 8 on the Billboard 200, so expectations are high for the follow-up Just For Fun (due September 18). As such, Timeflies come out swinging with “Worse Things Than Love,” which sounds like a cross between Gym Class Heroes and MKTO — albeit with Natalie’s quirky cameo.

“And you know that you should take a chance with me tonight, I know you feel it so do I,” the guys sing on the sing-a-long chorus. “Girl, you got to know there are worse things, there’s worse things than love.” The “Somebody” hitmaker arrives towards the end and drops some pearls of wisdom. “Better off alone, hmmm what do we know? We got a past that follows us wherever we go.” It sounds like a hit. Watch the lyric video below.
