Birdy Interview
We spoke to Birdy about her second album, touring America and writing new music.

The last time we heard from Birdy she was wandering around London’s Highgate Cemetery taking pictures. Happily, the 19-year-old returns to the music scene today (July 8) with “Let It All Go” — a duet with newcomer RHODES. The pair debuted their collaboration with a performance for The Mahogany Sessions and it’s an exceedingly pretty piano ballad that tugs at your heartstrings without being obnoxious about it.

“I been waiting on you just to say something real,” RHODES (another ridiculously talented Brit that sounds like a cross between Sam Smith and Ben Howard) laments. “Morning has come and I have to go. I don’t why, I don’t why we need to break so hard,” Birdy counters before they join forces for the airy chorus: “But if we’re strong enough to let it in, we’re strong enough to let it go.” The duet appears on RHODES’ debut LP Wishes, which drops September 1. Watch up top.
