It was first announced that Lady Gaga would be joining the cast of American Horror Story back in February, and now Ryan Murphy is revealing even more details about Mother Monster’s role.

The show’s creator discussed the show on a panel at Comic-Con over the weekend, where he stated Gaga will play an evil character: “She said, ‘I want to be evil.’ And I said, ‘OK, you came to the right place’.”

Murphy continued, “She’s been very collaborate and incredibly fun. When you work with somebody like her, you sign up for something that I think is larger than life. Part of her role involves fashion. You want Lady Gaga to look a certain way so the designers have been coming out of the woodwork.” But don’t expect any Jessica Lange-worthy musical numbers! There will be no singing on this upcoming AHS season.

Kathy Bates, Angela Bassett, Sarah Paulson and Evan Peters will all be returning to the show, while Matt Bomer (Magic Mike XXLjoins as a new cast member. Look out for the premiere of American Horror Story: Hotel this October on FX.
