Marina And The Diamonds Teases Her County Fair-Themed “Blue” Video

Marina And The Diamonds has wisely selected “Blue” as the fifth single (!!) from Froot. While the title track, “Happy,” “I’m A Ruin” and “Forget” are all great songs, this is the Brit’s best chance at nabbing that elusive hit. It stays true to her arty pop sound but the gloriously morose break-up anthem (“we’ve broken up and now I regret it”) packs the catchiest chorus on her third LP and wouldn’t sound out of place on top 40 radio.

The 29-year-old shares a glimpse of the video today (July 14) and it finds the perpetually glum diva looking miserable and alone at a county fair. (The director really understood the brief!) She snacks on fairy floss, looks fabulous perched on a bumper car and hangs out in an empty roller disco. Marina also dresses up as a palm reader. After the minimalist approach of the other Froot videos, it’s great to see her delivering something bigger and bolder. Watch a preview below.
