2015 has been a great year for emerging female artists. Get to know three new divas.

Back in February, 16-year-old Pittsburgh singer Daya headed out to L.A. for a songwriting session and came out of the West Coast business trip with “Hide Away.” In just a few months it’s amassed nearly 1 million streams, becoming one of the summer’s out-of-nowhere pop breakthroughs. And that rise is due to the fact that it’s a really well-crafted piece of mainstream pop. The synths and percussion are modern but not bludgeoning, Daya’s vocals are sneaky acrobatic and the chorus — which asks “Where do the good boys go to hide away?” — rides the relatability wave sparked by Lorde‘s “Royals.”

Which is just a long-winded way of saying we’re happy to premiere the cute lyric video for this hooky hit-in-the-making. It stars Daya as she goofs around trying to get the attention of a guy amidst some colorful animations of the lyrics.

Watch the lyric video up top, and grab the song over at iTunes as you wait for details on the teen’s debut EP release, planned for later this year.
