Idolator Interview: Adam Lambert
We spoke to Adam Lambert about the funky, housey sound of his new album.

Adam Lambert continues to make his incredibly impressive promo rounds, and his latest stop was on CBS’ The Talk yesterday (July 20). The singer chatted with the daytime talk show hosts and also performed his “Ghost Town” single.

When asked about when he knew he wanted to be in the music business, the singer shared a cute story of when he was three years old and recited every word to Sleeping Beauty when a cassette of the book broke during a car ride with his mom.

Lambert also discussed his latest album, The Original High, stating: “It’s a bit different than what I have done in the past. I think it’s a bit more grounded. It’s more introspective. It’s not quite as over the top and theatrical as some of my other stuff. It’s still me singing my heart out — but I think there is more nuance, there’s more dynamics. There’s something for everybody on there.”

Legendary rock band (and the singer’s musical BFFs) Queen were also brought up in the conversation, where Lambert talked about his experience touring with them. “We got together in Vegas about two years ago for iHeartRadio. I don’t know what it was, but something had shifted, and we were in a new place. All of a sudden, it really gelled. I think I was just more comfortable with it,” he shared.

Adam Lambert’s third studio album The Original High was released on June 16 via Warner Bros, and features songs like “Evil In The Night,” “Another Lonely Night” and Underground.”
