Nicki Minaj & Taylor Swift's VMA "Feud"
Bruno Mars & Ed Sheeran decided to jokingly jump into the social media debacle!

Nominations for the 2015 MTV Video Music Awards were announced this morning (July 21) with Taylor Swift leading the pack. She was nominated in nine categories including Video Of The Year for “Blood Blood.” That category also features Beyonce’s “7/11,” Ed Sheeran’s “Thinking Out Loud,” Kendrick Lamar’s “Alright” and Mark Ronson and Bruno Mars’ “Uptown Funk.” The contenders are all quite predictable and, with the exception of Queen Bey and K. Dot, perhaps a little undeserving.

Nicki Minaj certainly feels that way. The rapper was seething that her record-breaking “Anaconda” visual was relegated to the Best Female Video category, tweeting: “If I was a different ‘kind’ of artist, Anaconda would be nominated for best choreo and vid of the year as well.” She then summed up the video’s cultural impact and concluded: “When the ‘other’ girls drop a video that breaks records and impacts culture they get that nomination.”

The “Only” hitmaker wasn’t the only artist expressing dissatisfaction with the nominations on social media. “All my videos deserve VMas and my album deserves a Grammy but I’ll never get one because America doesn’t like opinionated black women,” Azealia Banks chimed in. “Poor me.” Tinashe was similarly miffed about “All Hands On Deck” being snubbed: “Let em sleep. I ain’t tripping let em rest in peace.” See their tweets below.

Azealia thinks all her videos deserves VMAs:

Tinashe was kept it cryptic:
