NERVO Call On Kylie Minogue, Jake Shears And Nile Rodgers For Disco Anthem “The Other Boys”: Listen
NERVO has been plugging away at their debut LP Collateral (due July 24) since 2011. That was the year the dance-pop duo made the leap from hit songwriters — Miriam and Olivia have penned tracks for Miley Cyrus, Kesha and Kylie Minogue — to buzz artists in their own right. The Aussie siblings have landed a string of club hits since then, but could be on to something much bigger with new single “The Other Boys.”
A brazen call to the dance floor featuring Chic legend Nile Rodgers, “Put Your Hands Up (If You Feel Love)” collaborator Kylie and Scissor Sisters frontman Jake Shears, the shimmery anthem pushes all the right buttons. NERVO’s production looks to the past for inspiration, but is definitely rooted in the here and now, while Kylie and Jake trade vocal blows on the soaring, gender-blind chorus. And let’s not forget Nile’s brilliant guitar work. All in all, “The Other Boys” is a frothy disco delight of the highest order. Listen below.
