DJ Mustard, Ty Dolla $ign & ILoveMakonnen Team Up On “Why’d You Call?” Rave-Up
We’re at the point in the DJ Mustard narrative where people are beginning to wonder if his snappy ratchet music has run its course. Well, new song “Why’d You Call?” with Ty Dolla $ign and ILoveMakonnen is a resounding answer, showing he has some new tricks to unleash to expand his sparse sound.
The cut opens with a gummy synth riff that could’ve come from some German minimal wavers in the ’80s, and after a couple emo verses from Ty $ and Makonnen, the beat transforms into a trap-rave freakout.
