Kevin Parker, mastermind behind Australian psych band Tame Impala, has made all kinds of pop inroads lately, appearing on a few songs on Mark Ronson‘s Uptown Special and delving into ’80s soft rock cheeze and studio pop smoothness on his band’s third album, Currents. And in keeping with his recent pop moves, Parker enlisted HAIM for an official remix of that album’s tongue-in-cheek “Cause I’m A Man.”
Lucky for us, it’s actually more of a cover, as the Cali sisters rework the song and take over vocal duties. They’ve intensified the glistening lope of the original, with the tempo stretched out even more and a host of shiny new synth effects thrown in to fill the extra space.
