Brandon Flowers has canceled a string of dates on his US tour. The Killers News reports Flowers scrapped the next week of scheduled shows in support of his second album The Desired Effect in Charlotte, Raleigh, Norfolk, Atlanta, Orlando and Miami. The dates will not be rescheduled so ticket holders will be refunded. Flowers’ publicist has confirmed with us that his remaining shows in September and October are moving ahead as planned (see those dates at the bottom of the post).

The singer’s camp has released a statement saying that the shows were scrapped “due to unforeseen circumstances” and that Flowers “apologizes to his fans.”

It’s a shame, because he’s touring on a surprisingly strong album, and thus far the tour has looked like a success, in no small part due to a bunch of guest appearances from New Wave greats, including New Order‘s Bernard Sumner and The PretendersChrissie Hynde.

So, any fans in those cities who are disappointed after eagerly awaiting a local show from the Killers frontman, soften the blow by watching him perform with Huey Lewis below.
