Adam's "Ghost Town" Is Summer 2015's Sleeper Hit
You voted for it, and we give our thought's on Adam Lambert's under-appreciated single.

We’ve finally reached the weekend, Idolator readers! The past few days were filled with major music moments, which kicked off with Miley Cyrus calling out Taylor Swift and Kendrick Lamar when discussing double standards in the industry.

Lana Del Rey dropped her “High By The Beach” video while also hinting at her Honeymoon album release date, while Charlie Puth showed his ass (literally) in a resurfaced nude photo.

Nakedness seemed to be the trend this week, with Christina Aguilera, Justin Bieber and Ricky Martin taking their tops off on Instagram and the September issue of Cosmopolitan. Oh, Zayn Malik dyed his hair grey…if you care about that sort of thing.

On our side at the Idolator offices, we premiered a pizza-filled video (why not?) from Swedish group LCMDF. We also launched two contests, where you can enter to win a copy of Robyn & La Bagatelle Magique’s Love Is Free CD and also Demi Lovato‘s “Cool For The Summer” remix CD!

And of course, our readers spoke their minds on the going-ons in the frantic music world. Read some of the best and shadiest comments below!

:: Brad shared his critique on Mariah Carey’s “Infinity” Remix Features French Montana, Justin Bieber And T.I.: Listen: “The consensus seems to be in the majority that it is Mariah and Justin Bieber who carry the track.. At least when it comes to people who have actually listened to this track objectively without letting their personal feelings towards anyone affect their ability to make judgements. I also agree with many others that the intro from French starts weak and the track only picks up when Mariah enters then continues on a high note with Justin then crashes again when T.I. does his verse. Remix this with only Mariah and Justin and this will be a banger.”

:: Thomas Alex Dugrosprez had a brilliant idea on Ryan Murphy Talks Lady Gaga’s Leading Role In ‘American Horror Story: Hotel’: “Imagine ‘Government Hooker’ playing during a kill scene.”

:: matleyrho had a lot to say on: “Perfectly right! Miley has a great point, and finally the mainstream media gets what people have been thinking all along (apart from the Taylor = boring sentiment). Ok, let’s see: Kate Perry gets ger dancers back for her tour, Taylor Swift feels so outraged, she gets together a posse of friends and does a video with such a positive title as ‘Bad Blood’ with guns and explosions (and lots of money spent) against her? What? Isn’t that bullying? Especially so because then she only HINTS that it’s about such (petty) affair? If she has a problem with KP, she can give her a call, sort it or part as friends. Bot call her friends and display violence. Is this what you call a role model for children?”

:: Jay also weighed in Miley Cyrus Cites Taylor Swift And Kendrick Lamar As Examples Of Media Double Standard: “People criticize her for being a terrible role model…Just because she has twerked or gets naked doesn’t really define the person who you are inside. She’s a musician, an entertainer for starters. What she does outside of that is what truly counts. That’s why some people look up to her as a role model, for the good that she actually does. A role model is based on what people do for others, and I think she does more than enough. How come no one ever talks about male role models, specifically male rappers? Many male rappers talk about far, far worse material in their songs and no one seems to bother. Why are so many people quiet about that?”

:: Hep. is #TeamGlambert on Adam Lambert’s “Ghost Town” Voted Summer 2015’s Best Sleeper Hit By Idolator Readers: For the last 6 years the industry has done everything possible to smother the career of Adam Lambert, the only reason he’s still standing is due to his amazing talent and base fans who will never take no for an answer. Real talent does matter, just ask Roger and Brian from Queen..today the charts are filled with thin voices and all out fakes who can’t even sing live, amounts to a crime..if Janis Joplin was alive today she would not be played on radio,no room for the real deal, same applies to Adam Lambert “Ghost Town” is a great song but has been like pulling teeth to get radio to totally embrace this track, they prefer dreary pop drizzle instead.

:: pawner88 got into it with a fellow reader on Iggy Azalea Poses For ‘Sunday Style,’ Talks “Totally Different” Sophomore Album And Regrets: 5 Pics: “Consider this, people like to say all kinds of horrible and rude things about Christina and put her down in the exact same way you’re doing to Iggy. They want to take away their success and hope for their failure. Xtina and Madonna are my main girls, I adore them, and people love to rip them apart. Why? Because they’re creative talented chameleons that just do it better. They evolve every time and people are jealous of that. Iggy has a similar sensibility in her evolving imagery and she will surprise you. If she was actual crap no one would say anything about her, they’d just not care. She provokes something in people in the same way those two women do. I’m not a big fan but I can see an artist when I see one and she’s got all the makings to be a superstar. Say what you want but she will continue to succeed. Anyways, all I have to say on the matter. Not getting into this with you. Have a nice day!”

:: Lastly, DavidSask wrapped up with the truth tea on Charlie Puth Posted (And Then Deleted) A Pic Of His Butt On Tumblr: “Flat man, get thee to the gym. Sorry someone had to say it.”
