N.E.R.D. never really died, as was demonstrated by the group’s recent Spongebob Movie song “Squeeze Me.” And Pharrell‘s band was revived once again on his OTHERtone Beats 1 show on Sunday (August 16), when he debuted unreleased track “Locked Away.”
Hip Hop N More points out that a low-quality version of the song leaked a few years ago. But now it can be heard in all its hi-fi glory: Skateboard P doing his soul-yelp thing over a funky arrangement with a loping bass line and of course those signature Pharrell Plinko sounds and keyboard squiggles.
