Rihanna Joins Kanye At FYF
Kanye West replaced Frank Ocean at the last minute for FYF Fest and brought a special guest.

Music is an unpredictable force, as it has the power to end long-lasting relationships while also seamlessly reconciling broken ones. Case in point: Solange Knowles and Dev Hynes. The two collaborators and friends had quite the public falling out on Twitter back in 2013, which was over songwriting contributions.

Fast forward to last weekend’s FYF Fest in Los Angeles, and the artists used the stage as a platform for their reconciliation. Solange was joined by Dev during her set to perform True songs like “Losing You” (the dance break was very awesome), but the highlight was their cover of Nina Simone‘s “To Be Young, Gifted & Black” alongside Moses Sumney and KING.

With all of the police brutality-based turmoil that has been plaguing cities across the states, the musicians’ soulful cover of the powerful tune came as a moment of hope.

Watch the Nina Simone cover, as well as a few danceable “Losing You” clips below.
