We were as down about Neon Jungle announcing their split in July as anybody — especially since the UK quartet came into our office last year for a live performance of “Trouble” and Hozier‘s “Take Me To Church.” But that doesn’t mean the music has stopped for former member Asami Zdrenka.

Neon Jungle was comprised of Shereen Cutkelvin, Amira McCarthy, Jess Plummer and Asami. The latter is wasting no time in forging a solo path, though, as she launches A Cover Trilogy.

Essentially a series of live covers of songs Asami personally loves, Idolator is premiering the video for the first of them, “Only Love Can Break Your Heart,” today.

“Only Love Can Break Your Heart” was originally performed, written and co-produced by rock icon Neil Young in 1970 and famously given a housey overhaul by British dance-pop trio Saint Etienne in 1990. Asami’s rendition keeps somewhat with the arrangement of Saint Etienne’s redo, while also allowing for the 19-year-old’s own unique touch to shine through on the track.

“‘Only Love Can Break Your Heart’ was a really cool song to cover,” says Zdrenka. “I love the original by Neil Young and the Saint Etienne version which is very different, so that naturally progressed to wanting to have a crack at the song myself!”
