Miley Cyrus Dropped Her New Album For Free: Stream ‘Miley Cyrus & Her Dead Petz’
What an eventful night for 2015 MTV Video Music Awards host Miley Cyrus! While she may have displayed subpar hosting skills and appeared in groan-inducing comedy sketches, that was all overshadowed by Nicki Minaj calling her out, her boob popping out on live TV and then, after her colorful performance, the announcement that her new album was available for free at MileyCyrusAndHerDeadPetz.com.
So what are we in for with this already contentious release — are The Flaming Lips on it? Is Mike Will Made It? Yes and yes. Big Sean, Ariel Pink and Phantogram‘s Sarah Barthel are also featured on the 23-track psych-pop release, which was inspired by the deaths of her dog, her fish and her friend’s cat. Cyrus had a hand in writing every song, The Flaming Lips’ Wayne Coyne co-wrote a bunch of tracks, and The Flaming Lips produced a majority of the album and served as part of the Dead Petz musical collective backing Miley.
