Nick Jonas' "Levels" MV
The solo Jonas Brother reaches another level of sexy in his latest video.

Nick Jonas, polished pop-R&B singer, is barely recognizable in “Area Code,” a song he dropped yesterday (September 5) before his Made In America set without warning.

To start, the solo Jonas Brother’s voice is distorted, as he meanders through verses about being drunk (“I’m fucked up, they don’t even know / maybe it’s better that you don’t“). Save for what could be a shoutout to Selena Gomez‘s new single “Good for You,” this transformation all recalls how moody and desperate an artist like Drake can get when he calls someone he knows he shouldn’t. What’s ironic is that Nick says that “Area Code” isn’t finished, as he needs “someone to put a verse on this.” Perhaps he should give the “Hotline Bling” rapper a call.

Regardless of its state, listen to Nick’s surprise new song below.
