Kanye West‘s 2020 presidential bid announcement at the MTV VMAs has already garnered a response from White House hopeful Donald Trump. And now the off-the-cuff remark has landed West on the cover of The New Yorker. The illustration for the September 14 issue shows West holding up a newspaper reading “Trump Defeats Kanye” — an update of the iconic photo of Harry Truman holding up an incorrect “Dewey Defeats Truman” headline on the night of his 1948 election victory.

Yeezy 4 Prez:: Trump actually had some nice things to say about Kanye

According to The Boombox, this is the first time a rapper has appeared on the cover of the nearly century-old publication. Barry Blitt did the illustration, which is called “2020 Vision,” and explained his reasoning behind it: “It’s not too early to start thinking about the 2020 campaign. (2016’s already old hat by now, anyway). And when one considers Mr. West, it doesn’t take a whole lot of imagination to be reminded of another scrappy kid who won the Presidency, back in 1948, against all odds. The press wrote him off, too. That’s right—Harry Truman.”

Now he just needs a running mate. Might we suggest a The Throne ticket?
