After taking a detour and working with various collaborators like David Foster and Stuart Price and releasing a couple LPs consisting of covers of soul standards in recent years, Grammy winner Seal is returning to his roots. On November 7, the 52-year-old singer will release his latest album 7, his first done fully with producer Trevor Horn, who was behind Seal’s ’90s hits “Killer,” “Crazy” and “Kiss From A Rose,” in 12 years.

It will also mark Seal’s first album since splitting from ex-wife Heidi Klum in 2012 and later beginning a new relationship with model Erica Packer. That bit becomes more relevant when you read the below statement from the singer:

“The album concerns the most sung about, most talked about, and most documented emotion – love. I tried to capture all of the wonderfully different dynamics of love, whether it’s the anger, the acceptance, the bliss, the sadness, the elation, or the recklessness. It’s this emotion and the ways it makes us feel. It’s about the extreme joy and the extreme regret as well as all of the crazy things love makes us do.”

Ahead of the LP’s release, lead single “Do You Ever,” a lush, Trevor Horn-esque heartbreak epic, premiered today.
