Whitney Houston Live Premiere
We premiere a live version of Whitney Houston's "You Give Good Love." Listen.

Whitney Houston is returning to the stage — via hologram. The late singer’s estate has joined forces with a Greek billionaire to create an interactive show, which will debut at a major US venue in 2016 and then tour the world. “I was heartbroken when Whitney passed away in 2012,” Alki David, CEO of Hologram USA states in a press release. “The opportunity to help share her spectacular gifts with the world again is exactly what I hoped for when I built the hologram business.”

That sentiment is reiterated by Pat Houston, the legendary performer’s sister-in-law and the head of her estate. “It’s a great opportunity for her fans to see a reinvention of one the most celebrated female artists in history and to continue a legacy of performances that will not be forgotten in years to come,” she declares. “I look forward to the partnership.” The show will be created by FilmOn Studios and feature a selection of her greatest hits.

I miss Whitney terribly, but I’ll pass on this. The “I Wanna Dance With Somebody” diva delivered hundreds of breathtaking performances during her lifetime, most of which were captured on film and easily accessible via YouTube. Why can’t we just cherish those?
