July 7, 2015 will go down in history as one of the biggest pop scandals of our generation — otherwise known as Ariana Grande donut-gate. Since that time, the singer has released endless apologies to win back the hearts of America, the country which she dissed ever so harshly.

Now, more than two months has passed since this sticky-sweet, finger-licking incident. We may have had Nicki Minaj vs. Miley Cyrus MTV VMAs drama to tide us over, but Ariana has come forth once again to apologize for her actions. The singer stopped by Good Morning America today (September 15) to speak on her new perfume, upcoming music and of course — donut-gate. The artist explained:

“First of all, my behavior was very offensive and I apologized. There’s no excuse, or there’s nothing to justify it. But I think as human beings, we all say and do things that we don’t mean at all sometimes. We have to learn for it. That’s part of our process. We have to learn from our mistakes. That’s how we grow… One of the biggest things I’v learned is what it feels like to disappoint so many people who love and believe in you, and that’s an excruciating feeling.”

After making her statement, Ariana Grande discussed her new “Ari” perfume that she describes as “really sweet and yummy” (no word if it was inspired by a donut shop). She then discussed matters that were actually important, like providing new music for her fans. The singer revealed her forthcoming single, which may be Moonlight‘s “Focus On Me,” is coming this week!
