We explore the songwriting and production credits of Selena Gomez's 'Revival' LP.

Selena Gomez ushered in the Revival era last night (September 16) with a once-in-a-lifetime fan event at the Place Theatre in downtown Los Angeles. What made the occasion so special? The 23-year-old debuted her gritty “Same Old Love” video and then dropped a major bombshell by revealing that the finale would be filmed right there on stage. It was a magical moment for overwhelmed Selenators, who then had the opportunity to meet their idol.

In addition to debuting the “Same Old Love” visual, which finds Selena leaving her limousine to hit up a club and wander the mean streets of LA, the pop star also performed the song live for the first time and belted out pop radio-conquering smash “Good For You.” Both performances were impressively staged — the former with a group of male dancers, the latter with sexy blue-and-red lighting.

Another highlight was hearing a brief snippet of the album’s title track, which is a moody electronic number with a spoken intro and sultry lyrics like “I feel like I’ve awakened, baby.” Interestingly, a downtempo version of Zedd collaboration “I Want You To Know” was played during the fan meet and greet. It sounded great, so I hope it surfaces eventually. Watch behind-the-scenes footage from the event up top. Revival drops October 9. (Pre-order your copy here).
