We spoke to rising DJ Alesso about sampling Kylie and touring with Madonna.

Aussie DJ tyDi has a crossover pop hit on his hands with “Tear Me Up.” Featuring Hot Chelle Rae singer/guitarist Nash Overstreet, the house anthem deftly combines furious beats with a punchy pop chorus. There’s even a sprinkling of acoustic guitar (a staple of radio-friendly club hits) and a huge drop to keep the faithful happy. It’s a fresh twist on a formula that has turned Avicii, Zedd and Martin Garrix into superstars.

“I couldn’t be more excited about this track! Since the night Nash and I wrote the song, I just had this feeling it was special,” the 28-year-old tells Idolator. “Keeping it a secret for so long has been insanely hard. I wanted to go for a huge summertime feel — since moving from Australia to California, it constantly feels like summer, so maybe that helped. It’s been a while since I’ve made a straight up ‘party’ track, too. I’m pumped on this and hope my fans love it!”
