Alessia Cara Performs Breakthrough Hit “Here” On ‘The Today Show’
Alessia Cara has a massive hit on hands with debut single “Here.” The loner anthem reached a new peak of number 55 on the Billboard Hot 100 this week and is hovering just outside the top 20 on pop and urban radio. With promotion very much in its early stages, the track should climb a lot higher in the next few weeks. Speaking of promo, the 19-year-old performed her calling card on The Today Show earlier this morning (September 22) — and nailed it.
The Canadian comes into her own live, and she delivered a typically accomplished rendition of “Here.” Alessia’s vocal is silky smooth and she exudes a casual defiance as she prowls the stage. The talented teenager recently dropped her debut EP Four Pink Walls (check out the brilliant “Seventeen”) and went viral with covers of Taylor Swift’s “Bad Blood” and Drake’s “Hotline Bling.” Watch her Today performance up top.
