Selena Gomez Contemplates Life In Stylish, Understated “Same Old Love” Video: Watch
Selena Gomez is really coming into her own as a pop star. She completely reinvented her sound on sultry single “Good For You” (and still landed the biggest hit of her career) and continues down the road less travelled on offbeat follow-up “Same Old Love.” That willingness to innovate is also reflected in her new video. The 23-year-old premiered part of the clip at last week’s Revival Event in Los Angeles and then filmed the remainder in the venue.
Directed by Michael Haussman, “Same Old Love” finds Selena contemplating life as she is driven around downtown LA. She observes couples going through tough times and decides to leave the safety bubble of her car to wander the streets. The hitmaker eventually snaps out of the spell she’s under and returns to her reality (that of a famous singer) and belts out the Stargate/Benny Blanco-produced hit at the Palace Theatre.
