Disclosure & Lorde’s “Magnets”: Hear The Collab
Disclosure and Lorde‘s highly anticipated Caracal collab “Magnets” is finally here. It just premiered with Zane Lowe on Beats 1, two days before the album’s September 25 release. And upon first listen, it lives up to the hype.
Which is important, because if we’re being honest, the rest of the Caracal tracks we’ve heard so far have not. None of it has been bad by any means, but the material definitely hasn’t sizzled with the same energy that made the duo’s debut album so engaging. But this song is a nice change-of-pace, finding brothers Guy and Howard Lawrence slowing down the BPM and delving into sparse future-R&B atmospherics. Among the blips and synth washes, Lorde sings about secret languages and embracing the point of no return.
